Raven Guard - Silenced Bolter Scouts

Scouts, one of my favourite Space Marine models. Yes, they are old, yes their heads look weird ... so I changed them! I've got loads of Scion heads lying around and they look far better than the standard ones. Although, my next Bolter Scout team is getting the night vision goggle heads from the snipers.

This squad always rides around in the finished LS Storm. Either infiltrating with it or deep striking. I really like the look of the scout pistols with silencers, so I added them to their bolters and I had to add loads of equipment to them, they are supposed to be scouting ahead without any chance to resupply.

Raven Guard - Sniper Scouts in desert camo

I don't know why, but I've always been a fan of space marine scouts. Power armour is ok (when you don't have to paint a big batch of them) ... but scout armour gives the painter more possibilies imo. I also collect and paint Imperial guard, the main reason for that is, that I love to put bags, extra weapons, rucksacks, bottles and whatever on the vehicles and infantry models. This works quite well with sm scouts as well and their vehicles (LS storm), and also to some extend with power armour.

But, less words ... more pictures. I also changed the heads on the scouts and "sculped" hoods for them made of greenstuff. I also modeled an arm for the scout seargent, and gave him a modified sniper rifle, it is supposed to be the special Raven Guard relic "Nihilus". But he's gonna be a standard seargent in the future, because I've bought Sgt. Telion and the "Negotiator rifle" from Anvil industries, and those 2 together will be my new vet. sgt. with the Nihilus.

Taurox - Long Range Reconnaissance Veteran Vehicle in desert camo

This is my version of the standard Taurox for my Imperial Guard in desert camo scheme. It is along the lines of the US camo scheme including identity markings. The wheel kit comes from victoria miniatures and is a perfect add on kit for this model. The mud flaps on the back and small wheel guard are made of plasticard. It was great fun building and painting this model as I did not have to watch out that all the magnetic parts are not obstructed by accessories like with my Taurox Prime models. But now I want all my Taurox to look like this one ^^ Hope you enjoy the pics

Valkyrie - Storm Scion Transport done

This is the first Valkyrie I've ever build and painted. It's for my Storm Scions in desert camo. I wanted to remain close to a Forge World drawing of a desert Valkyrie, so I ordered those extra fuel tanks for them too. The interior is completely painted, the heavy bolter gunners are magnatized, as well as the Multilaser/Lascannon. The fuel tanks and missile launchers are magnatized. I've installed the fuel tanks further back because it looks better and in case I take the heavy bolters, I can still open the doors and have a line of sight and it makes it look more realistic imo. I've really enjoyed painting this model, many details and ways to make it look cool :) The base ain't done yet, waiting for some inspiration I guess.

I've been wanting to do a noseart for ages and finally I've been given a chance with this model. The valk still needs a name though, perhaps you got some ideas ? The freehand noseart was inspired by graphics from http://elias-chatzoudis.deviantart.com/gallery/

Wheeled Taurox upgrade kit by Victoria Miniatures

When the first the leaked images of the Taurox Prime found their way on the common sites, I liked most of overall Taurox design, the similarities to modern MRAPs like the Cougar and the roof of a Humvee. But the tracks ... those tiny ones on the front did not look very appealing or helping the model imo. I build the model as it was but kept browsing the internet for good conversion kits, a 6-wheeled variant popped up on spikeybits which looked like an improvement, but not enough to buy it. But then I stumbled over Victoria Miniatures, who seemed to have the perfect solution:

Project - Valkyrie - Storm Scions Transport

Another week, a new project. This time it is about air support for my Scions. Or rather a new stylish transport with great support weapons.

When I started with 40k (sharing a Blackreach box with a good friend .. he got the orks), I've always eyed at the Imperial Guard section and the Valkyrie. I think it's design is peferct, as bulky as a Mi-Hind 24, WWII plane back fins, narrow cockpit like Apacha/Tiger helicopter, but bigger wings and hover thrusters. You can really imagine it flying around at your local airbase / airport. hmm .. like here :)
